One of the best ways of making money from home is with Affiliate Marketing and using affiliate programs afford anyone with web access the chance to make a very good living at home.
Affiliate Programs are free are very cheap to join. They are easy to get started and pay commisions on a regular basis and more and more people are turning to them to start a home based business. There are ,however, a few mistakes affiliate marketers make that hurts their internet business.

By avoiding some of these mistakes that are commonly made by internet marketers, it should easily and quickly improve the chances of making sales and increase the affiliate commissions.  Here are the top five mistakes made by affiliate markets.

1. Not Researching The Affiliate Program Before You Start Promoting It

Many affiliates take the first affiliate program that they see and signup simply because it has a high commission rate or because many other marketers are promoting it.
If the program does not compliment the overall theme of your website, you will find it difficult to convince your visitors and subscribers to purchasse your product.
WHY wwould they want to if it has nothing to do with the overall area you are targeting?

2.Not Using Your Signature File Correctly

Most affiliates add a signature file to all their outgoing email and forum posts, but they do not do it correctly.
Fifteen or twenty lines of text full of affiliate links to a bunch of different products is not considered a food signature file. In fact, it would probably be considered spam. Keep your signature file under five lines
with an attention grabbing first line and then do your links.

3.Not Writing Your Own Ad Copy

There is nothing worse than seeing the same exact same ad all over the internet or in all your email messages from a dozen different marketers. How much value is your message going to have if the reader is seeing it for the umpteenth time. You need to take the time to adjust your ad to appeal to your target audience and subscribers before you send it out. You want to personalize your message to make the ad your own so it doesn’t seem like an ad anymore.

4.Not Paying For Your Own Domain And Hosting Account

Even a novice internet user can tell a free hosted site when they see it. It is not professional and it suggests to your visitors that you are not making any money and probably don’t know what you are doing. You need to take the steps necessary to set up your business properly for your visitors to trust you. You can opbtain your domain name through NameCheap.com or GoDaddy.com for less than $10.00 per year and maybe you can get cheap hosting for around $5.00 per month. This will not break your bank account and will probably help add to your account in the long run.

5.Not Capturing Your Leads Before Sending Them On To The Affiliate Product Site

You have gained nothing if you spend your time and money marketing to get someone to click on one of your affiliate links and they leave your site without purchasing anything. You have just lost the time and money it took to get that one click-through in the first place.
Set up a squeeze page so you can capture your lead’s email address before you send them on to the product site. That way if they don’t buy you can followup with them later. You can try again and again. It is said that tjhe average prospect needs to be contacted up to seven times before buying.

Now that you know these five affiliate mistakes to avoid you should be able to make more sales
and increase your affiliate commissions by a significant amount. So get out there and become the super affiliate marketer you always knew you could be!
