One of the smartest choices for any entrepeneur is writing and submitting articles to promote your business, be it products or services.

This kind of marketing project will not cost you money but it will cost you a little bit of time, if you want the maximum benefits.

The submission process can be overwhelming if you don’t know where to begin. Listed below are ten steps to take with article submission project. Having a process in place makes organizing submissions so much easier and removes the confusion of where or what to do first.

1.   Proof read your article and add it to your website. Make sure you have a catchy title and a by-line that compels readers to take action.

2.   Use a text to html tool to format your by-line so that your url will be active when your article is posted on a site.

3.   Collect the information you’ll need for most submission sites including: title, author, name, address, phone number, email address, website url, autoresponder address if needed,   document file names and 10 or so keywords.

4.   Make a list of the type of submission sites appropriate for your article. Be sure to write down the categories that are a match for your article. Depending on what your topic is will determine how many sites you can submit.

5.   I use an article submitter to help with the automation process. It automates and keeps track of the sites submitted to.

6.    Your next step should be to sign-up for all the new submission sites on your list that require registration. Typically you will havee to wait for a confirmation email before submitting.

7.   Check your email and confirm all new accounts that need confirmation. Be sure to keep track of login and password for each site.

8. Submit your article to all sites you have registered for and to all sites not needing registration but have a submission form.

9.   Update your submission list by removing or correcting email addresses and url errors. Make sure to add all new sites to your list.

10. Make a file on your computer to keep track of name and url of all sites used for submission. You can update this list every time you submit an article. You can add to this list each time you submit an article if you find something that works better for you.
